You Can Have Artificial Grass, Even If You Have Pets

April 22nd, 2011

If you have decided not to replace your lawn with artificial grass simply because you have pets, you may want to reconsider that decision. New materials have made artificial lawns possible in almost any situation, including households with pets. Even pet owners can enjoy the look of real grass, with the easy maintenance that comes with artificial grass. Phoenix is an ideal region for a synthetic lawn: it reduces water usage, eliminates maintenance, and stays green year-round.

Phoenix artificial grass has many benefits for pet owners. Your lawn has insects, soil bacteria, mold, fungus, and other particles that your pet tracks into your home. Muddy paws and dirty coats are also unavoidable when you have a natural lawn. These problems can be eliminated with synthetic grass. Phoenix residents will also benefit from the easy maintenance: no more watering, weeding, or mowing!

If you are concerned about pet waste, you don’t have to think about it any more. Liquid waste soaks through just like rainwater, and solid waste is removed just like on real grass. Artificial grass can be easily cleaned with a garden hose as well.

Phoenix artificial grass has other benefits for pet owners: you will not have yellow spots from pet urine, and animals also cannot dig holes in the lawn. Phoenix artificial grass provides a safe, clean outdoor area for your pets and a convenient, beautiful lawn for you.

Replace Your Lawn with Artificial Grass and Reduce Spring Allergies

April 19th, 2011

If you suffer from spring allergies, you know that the itchy eyes and sneezing are never pleasant.  But did you also know that you could reduce these symptoms by replacing your lawn with artificial grass?  Phoenix residents have much to gain from this new trend, including fewer allergies, fewer insects, and less water usage. Phoenix artificial grass also stays green year-round, no matter how hot it gets.

Although grass may not be one of the allergens you react to, your lawn could still be causing spring allergies.  Lawns have a number of different weeds and flowering plants that can cause symptoms like watery eyes, congestion, and sneezing.  Getting to the root of the problem is the best way to eliminate it; replacing your lawn could be the answer.

If you replace your lawn with synthetic grass, Phoenix springtime can be quite pleasant.  You will be able to spend more time outdoors, and you will not have to mow the lawn, which releases even more allergens into the air.

Improving allergies is not the only reason to replace your lawn with artificial grass.  Phoenix also has lawn insects that may cause damage to your property or home; replacing the lawn will also eliminate these pests. Phoenix artificial grass can be installed any time of the year, but why wait until your spring allergies get worse?

Artificial Grass: Not Just for Golfers Anymore

March 10th, 2011

Most people think of putting greens when they think of artificial grass. Phoenix has many other possible uses for this grass alternative. Its environmental benefits and practicality have made Phoenix artificial grass a developing trend.

In Phoenix, artificial grass can replace entire lawns, cutting down landscaping maintenance costs and increasing water conservation. It also works well on patios and poolside decks because it is a non-slip surface that inhibits mold growth.

Imagine a public or private dog run where, the grass never turns yellow, dogs cannot dig holes, and there are no muddy paws. Pets are also not exposed to lawn chemicals with the installation of synthetic grass. Phoenix can truly benefit from such an innovative, pet-friendly solution. On playgrounds with artificial grass, kids stay clean and there are fewer insects. It also works well for indoor and outdoor athletic fields.

New synthetic lawns look more like real grass, are not affected by rain, and are much more durable than the original attempts at artificial grass. Phoenix residents can save money and have nicer, safer lawns with new artificial grass products.

Top Three Reasons to Switch to Artificial Grass

March 4th, 2011

There are many reasons to switch to artificial grass; Phoenix residents should be especially motivated by the benefits it provides.  The hot, dry climate is just one reason for the Phoenix artificial grass trend, but there are many more.

  1. No More Watering – Water conservation is the best argument for switching to synthetic grass.  Phoenix area homeowners use up to 50% of their household water for outdoor use.  A lawn made from artificial grass significantly reduces water consumption, and is uniformly green year-round.
  2. No More Fertilizing – Reduction of fertilizer use is an excellent reason to switch to artificial grass.  Phoenix area soils do not contain enough nutrients to support a lawn without using fertilizers; one solution is synthetic grass.
  3. No More Pests – Artificial grass provides no standing water to attract insects and their larvae.  Artificial lawns are also allergy-free and weed-free.

Phoenix artificial grass is an investment that is good for both the Arizona environment and for your pocketbook.  A one-time installation will save you countless hours of maintenance and your lawn will look better than ever.

Dear Arizona: Artificial Putting Greens are an Intelligent Choice

January 17th, 2011

Phoenix residents really do love to golf and in this city; golf courses seem to be on every corner. Thanks to the extreme summer heat, in Phoenix, synthetic putting greens are popping up all over – in back yard landscaping, front yard applications, school play grounds, business common areas, dog parks and even in commercial settings.

Many people still believe that artificial putting greens play differently than real grass greens. But this couldn’t be further from the truth. High-end grass companies now install synthetic putting greens that play just like real golf greens. The key is finding a solid, reputable company that has plenty of work in their portfolio and many satisfied customers. If you do your due diligence, you can definitely find a company that will install artificial putting greens that provide true action on pitches, chips and putts. On a good putting green, you’ll find that your ball will check-up and hold just like it does on real grass. So look for a company with an excellent reputation and history before you make the investment.

For golfers in Phoenix, synthetic putting greens allow them to practice putting a lot more; shaving valuable strokes off their short game. Having artificial putting greens in the comfort of your own yard makes practicing convenient. It’s also a great way to relieve stress, provide recreation for your family and entertain guests.

Golfers Work on Putting with a Back Yard Synthetic Grass Green

September 28th, 2010

In golf, putting can be one of the toughest parts of the game and also one of the most critical.  Putting represents 40-50% of a golfer’s score.  So it makes sense for avid golfer’s to spend more time practicing putting.  And there’s really no better place to do that than on a back yard synthetic grass green.

A home putting green allows you to practice strokes just like you do on real grass.  That’s because a synthetic grass putting green is very close to real grass.  Countless pro golfers have installed synthetic greens in their yards; enabling them to practice all year long.

A reputable synthetic grass company will have grass varieties that mimic the action of real golf greens.  These grasses will feel like the real thing and your ball will act just the way it does when you’re on the golf course.  And your green will last for many years; holding its original color, feel and roll.  You get all this with virtually no maintenance other than blowing or rinsing it off every now and then.  And you’ll never have to mow it!  Probably the best part is you can work on your putting and start posting better scores.

Water is our Most Precious Resource. Time to Install Synthetic Grass, Arizona

September 23rd, 2010

Saving water is always on our minds these days and it’s really on the minds of those of us who live in the Southwest.  In this part of the country (and some others) water providers are beginning to offer rewards and rebates to homeowner’s who deck out their yards with water-saving alternatives to real grass.  Synthetic grass lawns are a great way to save water and possibly qualify for a rebate.

The Water Smart Landscape program in Las Vegas, Nevada, pays people to not use water on their landscapes. The program developers report that every square foot of grass that’s replaced with an alternative water-saving solution will save 55 gallons of water each year.  Wow!  Since the Water Smart program’s inception in 1999, homeowners have received $38.8 million to replace 36.5 million square feet of grass.  This saved roughly 2 billion gallons of water each year.  Residents are paid $1.50 per square foot of lawn replaced.

In Arizona, a similar trend is taking place.  Chandler, Tempe and Scottsdale have all instituted their own water-saving rebate programs.  In Chandler, residents can get a $200 rebate on their new, water-friendly landscaping.  Residents of this city can earn up to $3,000 when they remove grass areas and replace them with low-water-use options.  Depending on where you live, synthetic grass lawns can actually earn you money!

Even if your city doesn’t offer a rebate program, you still reap awesome rewards when you go wtih synthetic grass including a significant reduction on your water bill.  Most residents who install synthetic grass are able to cut down their water bill by at least half.  If you want to get paid to save water, install synthetic grass, Arizona!

Thinking About Artificial Grass? Think Quality.

September 22nd, 2010

Many countries (like China) still manufacture inferior quality artificial grasses and sell them to US companies at cut-rate prices.  So, consumers think they’re getting a fantastic deal when, in fact, they’re being taken advantage of.  Cheaper, imported grasses may seem like a smart choice but the quality is absolutely awful.  These grasses look fake, smell terrible and don’t hold up for very long.

Poor quality grass is usually made from substandard yarns which give the grass a shiny, plastic look.  Bottom line, they look fake.  And this cheaper yarn makes the grass smell like a tire factory; especially when it gets heated up by the sun.  When you opt for superior quality artificial grass, it has a lovely matte, natural look to it.  It looks very much like real grass.  Most people have a hard time determining if it’s artificial until they get very close to the blades.  And good quality artificial grass smells great!

Another problem with lower quality grass is that it may can contain lead; especially if it comes from a country without EPA lead restrictions.  These cheap products also tend to have drainage issues which can make pet odors and stains a real problem.  And they don’t last nearly as long as better quality grasses.  So, when you’re in the market for artificial grass, remember the old saying “you get what you pay for.”  Then, choose quality.

Artificial Grass – Arizona is Loving It

September 22nd, 2010

Water conservation is always a big concern and nowhere is that more important than in Arizona where rainfall averages less than 13 inches per year.  Luckily, Arizonans have an easy option for saving this precious resource and it’s one they really love – artificial grass.

In Arizona, more and more homeowner’s and business owners are replacing water wasting lawns with artificial grass.  It truly is “cropping” up everywhere – school playgrounds, sports fields and recess areas; building landscaping; day care center play areas; pet kennels and dog runs; and, of course, front and back yards.  As we become increasingly “planet conscious” as a society, we’re finding lots of new ways to use artificial grass to save water.

Artificial grass is replacing real grass in larger and larger numbers because it doesn’t need to be watered.  With the average American home using roughly 50% of its water for landscape applications, it’s also a great way to reduce your water bill.  And with 8 billion gallons of water going toward outdoor uses each year, it’s easy to see that we waste a lot of water.  Artificial grass requires no water at all, so it’s a great choice for planet-conscious consumers.  And unlike some other water-saving methods, artificial grass is easy to install and is usually finished in just a few days.  Although there is an initial investment, the long-term benefits far outweigh the investment.

Changing Your Mind About Artificial Grass

September 17th, 2010

It’s tough to grow grass in Arizona and throughout the desert Southwest. Super high temperatures, minimal rainfall and poor soil quality combine to make it hard to grow grass. In fact, it’s hard to get anything to thrive under a relentless, wilting sun with little water and caliche soil. That’s why there’s no better choice than artificial grass. Arizona’s desert climates can be punishing on even the most rugged grasses.

The term “artificial grass” is not one that’s typically met with fond memories. The truth is it can cause Arizonans to run for the hills as they bring to mind images if scary neon green, plastic grass that blisters your toes when you walk on it. Or smelly, stained areas of green plastic that served as grass in a parent’s or grandparent’s yard. The artificial grass of yesteryear was not a pretty sight and it’s left a quite a legacy. But today’s artificial grass is not only natural looking, it’s completely pet-friendly, odor free and soft to walk on. It’s definitely not your grandma’s artificial grass!

Instead of hard, harsh plastic, today’s grasses have a very natural look and feel. In fact, until you get right down and touch it, you wouldn’t even know it was synthetic. And rather than accumulating pet odors over time, modern artificial grass drains well and does not trap odors: ensuring years of fun for you and your pet.

As with any product, there are plenty of cheap, low-quality artificial grasses available on the market. But if you opt for one of today’s high-quality artificial grass options, you will be pleased and amazed at what your “fake” lawn will look like.
